Governor wants Congress to repeal ban so Arizona can cut 250,000 from Medicaid

The problem, Brewer explained, is the new federal Affordable Care Act requires states to keep their programs at least as liberal as they were when President Obama signed the new health care law last year.

She said that wasn't a problem when there were additional federal stimulus dollars to help the state.

But those extra stimulus dollars disappear at the end of the year. And gubernatorial press aide Paul Senseman said that means the state has to come up with $700 million in state tax dollars, money he said Arizona does not have.

Those bailouts ended for all the other states too...figure middle of 2011 they run out of money for healthcare.
