An Open Letter to President Obama and all members of Congress

To President Obama and all members of the U.S. Congress, The National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 1540) was recently passed through both Houses of Congress, and was signed into law by President Obama. Members of Congress from both factions of the Ruling Party (also known as the Repubicratic Duopoly) claim that the detainee provisions prohibit the military from indefinitely detaining American citizens. However, that doesn't mean some other law enforcement agency, such as the FBI or CIA, couldn't eternally jail citizens and resident aliens. Section 1031(b)(2) “includ(es) ANY PERSON who has committed a belligerent act or has directly supported such hostilities in aid of such enemy forces.” Jim Babka of Downsize DC asks, “What is a belligerent act? There have been more than 40 cases of alleged terrorist plots that were little more than entrapment, and not actual threats to the American people.
