GOVERNOR GARY JOHNSON TO IOWA SUPPORTERS: VOTE FOR RON PAUL IN THE CAUCUSES

December 31, 2011, Santa Fe,
NM -- Former New Mexico
Governor released the following statement today regarding next week’s
Iowa Caucuses:
“Wednesday, December 28, I announced that I am seeking the Libertarian nomination for president. Accordingly, I urge my supporters in Iowa to vote for Dr. Ron Paul in the upcoming Iowa Presidential Caucuses.
“While Ron Paul and I are both libertarians, we don't necessarily agree on every single issue. However, on the over-riding issues of restoring our economy by cutting out-of-control spending and the need to get back to Constitutional principles in our government, Ron Paul and I are in lock-step. Indeed, I proudly endorsed Ron Paul for President in 2008.
“The cause of individual liberty and freedom is bigger and more important than any candidate or campaign. I am hopeful that in urging my supporters in Iowa to vote for Ron Paul in the upcoming Caucuses, a victory for the principles we share can be won.”# # # #

I think Johnson is more interested in setting up a stage to become Ron Paul's running mate...not so much future elections...but THIS election. I wouldn't be opposed to him being RP's veep...there are only a select few that are even qualified to fit the bill...Judge Napolitano and Rand Paul...
What a statesman. He is a stand up guy. He remembers who his friends are.
Gary Johnson is coming across as an honorable man. And that is a good thing. Not many of them left in government.
I'm a Paul supporters 100%. However, I do like Gary Johnson a lot. I wouldn't mind seeing a Paul/Johnson ticket!
If Ron Paul should happen to become President at his age of 78, would he ever run for a second term? Perhaps. But I respect Governor Johnson quite a lot for suggesting that we vote for Ron Paul. Why - besides the question of unity among libertarians, that is?
It is a tactical move. It is a strategy designed to give him time to prepare in a BIG way for the years down the road... for the 2016 election, or the 2020 election.
Kinda looks to me like Gary Johnson is using something that we seldom have among people. It's called "2020 foresight."
