Los Angeles County Sheriff's investigators say convicted murderer Anthony "Chopper" Garcia received in excess of $30,000 in fraudulent unemployment insurance benefits while he's been in jail.

Investigators report that the fraud occurred between October 2008 and March 2010. According to police, Garcia was having family members and friends fraudulently obtain and cash bi-weekly unemployment insurance benefit checks totaling around $1,600 per month. Inmates are not legally entitled to unemployment benefits.
