Final Four 2012: Louisville's Road To The Final Four

•, by Chris White

This certainly isn't as intriguing as the two straight championship game runs by the Butler Bulldogs or last year's run to the Final Four by VCU, but the Louisville Cardinals are taking on the role of the underdog in the end game of this year's NCAA Tournament. Their fourth seed is the lowest of the remaining teams and they were supposed to have trouble in the side of the bracket that had Big Ten champions Michigan State as well as a Missouri team that was getting all kinds of hype going into the tournament.

Louisville are the West champions thanks to a win over one of those teams and perhaps helped by an early drop out by the other, but West champions nonetheless.

The tournament started against the Wildcats -- Davidson, not Kentucky -- and they suffered two straight scares as they were taken to the wire by Davidson and then New Mexico in the round of 32.
