U.S. House Defies Obama With $554 Billion Defense Bill

• Roxana Tiron, Bloomberg

The U.S. House of Representatives passed a $554 billion defense bill that rejects Pentagon proposals to curtail or slow weapons programs, bans same-sex marriages on military bases and backs indefinite detention without trial of terrorism suspects.

The Republican-controlled House today passed on a vote of 299-120 the defense authorization measure setting spending targets and policy for the fiscal year that starts Oct. 1. The Obama administration has threatened to veto the measure if it impedes the Pentagon’s new defense strategy.

The bill is about $4 billion more than the Democratic Obama administration said could be spent for fiscal 2013 to stay within deficit-reduction targets.

Even political donkeys in Congress can feel the pressure of the will of the American people to fight terrorism -- with zero tolerance to terrorist coddlers. They have to see to it that NDAA is sufficiently funded to become a real nightmare to terrorists and terrorist suspects -- deadly assassins now on the run if they were not already collared and sent to jail where they could no longer kill Americans and bomb cities in the United States.  Here's thumbs down to terrorists and terrorist coddlers, and thumbs up to our mules in Congress that land their kick on Obama's behind. I assure you that more of these boot-landings on the ass will be fun to watch. JV
