• The Hals Report
Hosni Mubarak, one of the most recent dictators to fall from grace in the middle east was handed down a sentence of life in prison today by judge Ahmed Refaat in a Cairo court for ordering the killings of hundreds of protestors during last summers uprising in Egypt. The general public seems to be happy with the sentence but there are some skeptics who believe Mubarak should be put to death for the crimes he committed. Outside the courthouse several protestors chanted “we want execution” and “enough talk” during the ex-presidents arrival. The 84 year old, who has been suffering from various health problems since last year arrived at the courthouse in an ambulance and was wheeled inside on a hospital gurney.
Mubarak ruled Egypt for almost 30 years with an iron fist. He is the first president of Egypt in modern times to be tried by his own people in a normal Egyptian court of law.
