Patient suffers TSA mocking, strip-search over implanted feeding tube

• New York Daily News

Melinda Deaton's family filed a formal complaint with the Transportation Security Administration after she received a strip search that entailed swabbing the feeding tube protruding from her stomach. Her husband claimed that this interference could have caused a life-ending infection, given her medical condition.

Deaton was flying out of Dallas Love Field airport to reach her medical appointment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. As TSA agents patted her down, they noticed the four-inch tube hanging from her stomach.
