Man arrested for posting image of burning poppy on Twitter

• Daily Telegraph
A man has been arrested for posting an image of a burning poppy on a social network site.

Kent Police said in a statement that the man, from Aylesham, was detained last night on suspicion of making malicious telecommunications and that he was in custody awaiting interview.

The force does not say whether the arrested man actually burned the poppy, or just posted the photo online.

Besides, isn't the poppy the state flower of Afghanistan or something?

Waking up in the morning might be a crime. It depends on the kind of job you are working on graveyard shift.

The article isn't clear on the reasons why the man was arrested. There may be more to it than posting a picture of a burning poppy.

If, however, the offense is simply posting the picture, and if the picture is not criminally offensive, it might be lawsuit time. I just hope the guy has enough sense to remain silent until he has time to confer with legal council.

waking up in the morning is a crime as well, or didn't you know this?
