Autographed Stephen King novel up for charity auction to heat US homes

• RT.com

The copy of 'The Regulators,' written by the Maine native King, was donated to Scottie's Bookhouse in Hancock by a loyal customer. According to the bookstore's owner, there are only 550 copies of the book left in a special collector's box.

The donor decided to put the limited edition book up for sale to help local residents survive the winter. All the proceeds from the book's auction will go to the Emmaus Homeless Shelter's emergency fuel fund in Ellsworth.

"I just think it's an ingenious way of being able to get a little bit extra to help people out," Emmaus Homeless Shelter Director Sister Lucille MacDonald told WABI-TV.
