Hundreds Of Foreign Hostages Reported At Algeria BP Facility

Al-Arabiya and Le Monde report that a French catering company accounced that 150 of its employees are being held at the plant, which is jointly operated by British oil giant BP, Norway's Statoil and Algeria's Sonatrach.

Earlier it was reported that there were 41 kidnapped foreigners, including seven Americans and citizens of the UK, France, Ireland, Japan and Norway.
One of the attackers told Agence France-Press by telephone that three vehicles of heavily armed men were part of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) came from northern Mali.
