In the first weeks of the present year, the health ministry confirmed the death of two people of that disease and reported three serious cases, but the heavy rains in recent days increased the risk of reproduction of the mosquito and reappearance of the disease.

The most recent reports said the cases of dengue are now 7,000 in Campo Grande, the capital of the southern state of Mato Grosso do Sul, according to an epidemiologic bulleting of the state health secretariat.
