Ford to recalibrate its 2013 hybrids for better fuel efficiency

  Affecting the 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid, Ford Fusion Hybrid, and Lincoln MKZ HybridStarting in August, Ford will tweak its 2013 hybrids when owners bring them to dealerships, making modifications that should increase real-world fuel economy (Possibly because some Ford hybrid drivers were getting lower mileage than should be expected... Whatever the reason, this is a good thing). 2014 hybrid models will have the updated settings from the factory, so no need for a dealership visit.

These calibration updates to Ford hybrid vehicles include:

Increasing the maximum pure electric speed to 85 mph from 62 mph, allowing increased use of electric-only mode on the highway
