Beating MRSA infections with RFID tags

• dvice
In fact, if you visit a hospital, you have a 1 in 20 chance of catching such an infection. These infections could be mitigated by one simple thing: hospital workers washing their hands regularly. Of course, hospital workers are generally stressed, tired, and busy, so they often forget, but technology can now force workers to wash their hands when needed, all by using RFID-enabled badges. An Ohio hospital is putting this idea to good use, thanks to IBM. Its employees are given badges that include an RFID chip. The RFID badge communicates with sensors placed in various locations throughout the building.
