Students at Cornell University have 3d printed one of the worlds first complete functional electronic devices from scratch with their new speaker. The students used a “Fab@Homes” printer capable of printing the plastic body, the conductive coil and magnet. Although the device was nearly ready for use as soon as it was printed the technology is still a ways off from the average printer being able to print a functional speaker.
