Democratic Socialism, Guns, and the Failure of the Constitution

• The International Libertarian
This one was just too good to pass up. An acquaintance on the left sent me the Democratic Socialists of America article "There Is No Second Amendment Right To A Gun". It reinforces everything the anti-federalists said about the Constitution back when and everything libertarians like Lysander Spooner have been warning us about since then.

I would remind the DSA that the line following "The pen is mightier than the sword" is:

"Behold
The arch-enchanters wand! — itself is nothing!"

You can't legislate away the use of force by an individual because the IDEA is generated from WITHIN.

It is CREATED.

We are Creators.

Government is created by Man, and cannot be greater than it's Creator.

(...it can, however, hornswaggle it's Creator into THINKING it is greater, and that it has authority over Man, and that it can disallow Man to even entertain the thought of using force - already in progress.)

'Socialism' is just another game of semantics with the object being to take what someone else OWNS and have them believing it is righteous!

I can play that game too.

I agree with the statement "There is no Second Amendment right to a gun".  I would likewise say that "there is a Second Amendment GUARANTEE to the individual right to own a gun because that's what is required to keep us all free and secure" just for clarification.

Make no mistake about it, this game being played is a roundabout way of doing away with the individual INHERENT right to OWN PROPERTY.

That includes your own body.

Plain and simple.

Who owns you?

The headline is correct.  There is no 2nd Amendment Right to own a gun.

It is a natural Right affirmed by the 2nd Amendment.  Even if the 2nd Amendment were repealed and replaced with an Amendment prohibiting firearms, I and everyone else on the planet would still have a Right to the weapons of our choice.

I'm sure that is what they meant.  :-D
