Flagstaff police plan to submit a case to the Coconino County Attorney's Office against the woman one of their officers is caught on video punching in the face once their internal investigation is finished, according to a statement released Monday.
A video posted on Facebook showing Officer Jeff Bonar punching 30-year-old Marissa Morris with a closed fist on Nov. 16. Bonar was placed on administrative leave within hours of the video surfacing.
Investigators say they have reviewed video footage from the cellphone and body cameras and will continue to conduct interviews with witnesses and the parties involved, according to the statement.
Bonar's camera was on before and after the incident, but not during. According to a police report, Bonar said he didn't activate his camera "due to the incident occurring so quickly."
