Netflix is stepping up with their promotional "materials."
As part of their effort to promote their new weed-centric show Disjointed, Netflix teamed up with a California dispensary to produce and release their own strains of weed. The names of the strains were inspired by strains and characters found in the show and they were sold exclusively from a pop-up shop in West Hollywood the same weekend that the show was released on Netflix.
Disjointed stars Kathy Bates and is about a middle-aged woman's journey to opening her own dispensary and hiring her son and other young budtenders to help her. While the concept for the show and the promotional materials sounds great, critics have been less than enthused with the outcome; CNN called the show "as stale as an unwashed bong."
