The United Nations is committed to open borders on a global scale, and they are seizing on a media-driven controversy regarding immigrant families to push-back against Trump's crackdown on illegal immigration.
"We are deeply concerned that the zero tolerance policy recently put in place along the US southern border has led to people caught entering the country irregularly being subjected to criminal prosecution and having their children – including extremely young children -taken away from them as a result," the UN said in a statement.
Leftist advocacy organizations are attempting to make this into a large national issue, exploiting the ignorance of the public to score political points with the voters. Attorney General Jeff Sessions set the record straight on the Hugh Hewitt show this week. He maintains that the rule must be enforced, and that the national security interests of the United States outweigh the feelings of the law-breaking families.
"You can't be giving immunity to people who bring children with them, recklessly, and improperly, and illegally," Sessions said to Hewitt. "The law requires us to keep children in a different facility than one for adults."
The UN not only wants the US to give illegal immigrants harbor, but also wants the US to break the law to provide special treatment for these individuals as they sneak across the border.
