Hausknecht treated Bush in February 2000 for an irregular heartbeat after the ex-president complained about lightheadedness while visiting Florida
Bush called Hausknecht a 'fantastic cardiologist and a good man'
Police are still looking for the suspect who rode past the doctor and fired two shots, killing the man
The two paramedics who were first on the scene after a renowned Texas doctor, who once treated former president George H.W. Bush, was shot said they did everything they could to help save the man's life.
The first responders, who did not want to be named, told ABC 13 that they were driving past the area where 65-year-old Dr Mark Hausknecht had been shot on Friday morning when someone flagged them down.
