Former president openly moving to the far-left to appease radical base
Former President Barack Obama has endorsed the New York socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez after initially holding off on voicing support for the far-left congressional hopeful.
"Today, I'm proud to endorse even more Democratic candidates who aren't just running against something, but for something—to expand opportunity for all of us and to restore dignity, honor, and compassion to public service. They deserve your vote," Obama tweeted Monday.
Ocasio-Cortez was among the lengthy list of Democratic/leftist candidates from Alaska to Wisconsin.
In August, Obama had released a preliminary list of dozens of candidates running in the midterms, but Ocasio-Cortez was absent from the list, which was noteworthy given her meteoric rise by liberal media after defeating establishment Democrat Joe Crowley in the New York primary.
