The Wall Street Journal's opinion section issued a scathing rebuttal late Thursday to a letter signed by 280 of the paper's staffers
The Opinion editorial board said the 'anxieties' of the signers 'aren't our responsibility in any case'
The publication, owned by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp - which also owns Fox News - vowed not 'wilt under cancel culture pressure'
The board also said it would push back on 'progressive conformity and intolerance' with its articles
The group of reporters, editors and other staff at WSJ and its parent company Dow Jones sent the extraordinary letter to publisher Almar Latour on Tuesday
It accused the section of 'misinformation' in conservative opinion pieces
The letter calls for a clearer divide between the paper's news and opinion divisions and raises alarm about the accuracy of the latter division
