A group of New York cheerleaders have joined forces took to Twitter to protest COVID-19 vaccine requirements for this year's New York State Cheerleading Championships  

The state cheerleading championship is set to take place at the Rochester Institute of Technology next month 

Cheerleaders from high schools across the state have now created a petition to have the venue moved, as RIT requires vaccinations for the team to compete

The petition notes that no other state championships at the high school level have a vaccine requirement besides RIT

The petition already has nearly 16,000 signatures as of Monday night
