More About: Immigration

“A nation is much more…it is a state of mind, a shared vision, and a recognition that we are all in this together. A nation needs a common language as it needs a common currency,” said Governor Richard D. Lamm of Colorado

One look around the world and you will see conflict in many countries in the Middle East, Africa and Europe. The great philosopher Kant said, “The two great dividers are religion and language.”

Today, the United Kingdom finds itself more the Divided Kingdom while the French find themselves becoming Arabic in culture and language. Canada doesn’t know ‘who’ it is with 12 distinct languages and cultures now emerging from its relentless immigration policy. At a fair this year, one Pakistani immigrant told a Canadian, “This isn’t Canada anymore; it’s a world country.” In other words, Canada has displaced itself out of its own culture, identity and language. In order to protect its culture and language, Quebec will only invite those who speak French and share their culture.

Wherever you see conflict in the world today, you see competing religions, cultures and languages. Any country may possess different cultures and religions, but once a country cannot communicate in one single language, it cannot continue its existence as a cohesive entity.

London, England boasts two separate ‘cities’—the British inhabit one part of London and middle eastern immigrants inhabit the other. Two cultures, two languages, two different religions—total separation.

“It is said because it is an advantage for an individual to be bi-lingual that it is also an asset for a society to be bi-lingual,” said Governor Lamm. “I suggest, however, that while it might be a blessing for an individual to be bi-lingual, it is a curse for a society to be so.”
Multiple languages balkanize any country. Seymour Martin Lipset said, “The histories of bi-lingual and bi-cultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension and tragedy.”

Look at French Canada and English Canada. Their battle continues to this day.

“Belgium, Malaysia, Lebanon—all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence,” said Lamm. “Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with its Basques, Bretons and Corsicans.”

Personally, I think the French, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish and Belgium languages and their cultures represent the first salvo of losing Western democracies to Islam, not by the sword, but by the penis. Islam in Europe runs 8.1 children per mother to 1.6 children per European mother. Clearly, Islam will take over by sheer birth rate dominance. As they do, all those countries and their languages and cultures will vanish into Islamic demographic dominance.

As Lamm noted, some folks romantically think places like Switzerland flourish with multiple languages. Reality check! The Swiss feature three separate cantons and languages with one French, one German and one Italian.

“You have to share something with your neighbor besides a zip code,” said Lamm. “We need many things to tie us together, but one indispensable element must be that we all speak one common language.”

As Lamm noted, we have been successful for 234 years because we’ve become one people. But today, we’re becoming three distinct ethnic and competing cultures and languages: Spanish, English and Arabic or Islamic.

“I suggest that language is a much deeper and more intractable separating factor,” said Lamm. “America has been successful because we have the social glue of a common language, a shared history, uniting symbols that tie us together. We live under a common flag, which we honor and salute.”

Current Immigration Patterns Destructive to One Nation Concept

Lamm said, “First, immigration historically was a mix of many nations and languages; now more than half of our immigrants are from Spanish-speaking countries. Second, immigrants historically came from great distances and had to throw themselves into a new nation; today people can spend every vacation in their home country and hold on to dual citizenship. Third, today we take in four times the historical rate of immigrants without pause.” [Today, 2.1 to 2.4 million legal and illegal immigrants annually enter the USA]

Today, we see entire cities separated by ethnic tribes that refuse to speak English or assimilate into the American way of life. We face accelerating dangerous precedents that not only separate us linguistically, but cause animosities that cannot be solved just because we’re all Americans. Over 40 million people in this country found their births in other countries. By 2035, over 70 million immigrants will call the USA home at current immigration levels.

One look at what’s happening to Europe should make anyone tremble on many levels.
“The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, or preventing it from continuing as a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities. We have but one flag. We have one language, English.” President Teddy Roosevelt

As you watch the conflicts at Ground Zero, or Detroit, or Chicago, or Miami, or Los Angeles—you’re looking at Roosevelt’s prophesy coming to fruition. As we fall prey to multiple languages, we will most certainly fall prey to more violence within our own country by competing tribes and languages. Competing languages and cultures prove a blueprint for the demolition of the United States of America.
If any of us, no matter what our race, creed or color might be, refuse to engage our U.S. Congress as we have not for 30 years as to the population/immigration equation-our children will find themselves living in a terribly degraded America where the American Dream will be described by the history books as a 'fleeting fantasy' from the era of 1950 to 2010.

Re: The USA about to add 100 million people within 25 years—world to add 3 billion people in 40 years, and what actions citizens must take in order to change course toward viable and sustainable societies--interview with Frosty Wooldridge
If you have time, you may enjoy a one hour interview in California as I address overpopulation/immigration, not only in that state, but nationwide and worldwide.  I attempted to cover all aspects of what our civilization faces if we continue on our overpopulation path toward adding 100 million people within 25 years here in the USA.  While we may become emotional around the immigration issue--in the end--it’s about too many people, too little water, too little resources, vanishing carrying capacity, species extinction, acidified oceans and dwindling energy reserves that will render this civilization and all ‘oil-dependent’ civilizations unsustainable. Away from the ‘emotional’ responses, we find ourselves in a great deal of trouble on multiple levels. I attempt to bring that reality to the forefront.  Additionally, below, you may read from other top world minds and writers as to the long term consequences of continued human overpopulation.

“Can you think of any problem in any area of human endeavor on any scale, from microscopic to global, whose long-term solution is in any demonstrable way aided, assisted, or advanced by further increases of population, locally, nationally, or globally.”  Dr. Albert Bartlett
“A simple look at the upward path of global greenhouse emissions indicates we will continue to squeeze the trigger on the gun we have put to our own head.”  Eugene Linden, The Winds of Change: Climate, Weather and the Destruction of Civilization
“The ship is already starting to spin out of control.  We may soon lose all chance of grabbing the wheel. Humanity faces a genuinely new situation.  It is not an environmental crisis in the accepted sense. It is a crisis for the entire life-support system for our civilization and our species.”  Fred Pearce, The Last Generation: How Nature Will take Her Revenge for Climate Change
“At this point, it’s almost certainly too late to manage a transition to sustainability on a global or national scale, even if the political will to attempt it existed, which it clearly does not. Our civilization is in the early stages of the same curve of decline and fall as so many others have followed before it.  What likely lies in wait for us is a long, uneven decline into a new Dark Age  from which, centuries from now, the civilizations of the future will gradually emerge.”  John Michael Greer, The Long Descent
“We are strong and adaptable animals and can certainly make a new life on the hotter Earth, but there will only be a fraction of inhabitable land left. Soon we face the appalling question of who m can we let aboard the lifeboats?  And who must we reject?  There will be great clamor from climate refugees seeking a safe haven in those few parts where the climate is tolerable and food available. We will need a new set of rules for limiting the population in climate oases.”  James Lovelock, The Vanishing Face of Gaia: A final Warning
“Imagine we live on a planet. Not our cozy, taken for granted planet, but a planet, a real one, with melting poles and dying forests and a heaving, corrosive sea, raked by winds, strafed by sdtorms, scorched by heat. And inhospitable place.  It needs a new name, Eaarth.”  Bill McKibben, Eaarth: Making a life on a Tough new Planet
"The cheap oil age created an artificial bubble of plentitude for a period not much longer than a human I hazard to assert that as oil ceases to be cheap and the world reserves move toward depletion, we will be left with an enormous population...that the ecology of the earth will not support. The journey back toward non-oil population homeostasis will not be pretty.  We will discover the hard way that population hyper growth was simply a side-effect of the oil age.  It was a condition, not a problem with a solution. That is what happened and we are stuck with it."  James Howard Kunstler
“We must alert and organize the world's people to pressure world leaders to take specific steps to solve the two root causes of our environmental crises - exploding population growth and wasteful consumption of irreplaceable resources. Over-consumption and overpopulation underlie every environmental problem we face today.”   Jacques-Yves Cousteau
“As we go from this happy hydrocarbon bubble we have reached now to a renewable energy resource economy, which we do this century, will the “civil” part of civilization survive?  As we both know there is no way that alternative energy sources can supply the amount of per capita energy we enjoy now, much less for the 9 billion expected by 2050. And energy is what keeps this game going. We are involved in a Faustian bargain—selling our economic souls for the luxurious life of the moment, but sooner or later the price has to be paid.”  Walter Youngquist
“The U.S. will set a record in the rate of rise—and fall of an empire.  Between wide open borders and fall of the dollar and growing population against a declining resource base, the US will be defeated from within. Mobs will rule the streets in the nation that is now the third largest in the world and unable to support its population except by taking resources from other countries.”  Arnold Toynbee
“If present growth trends in population, industrialization, pollution, food production and resource depletion continue unchanged, the limits to growth will be reached sometime in the next 100 years.”  The Club of Rome 1972
“The power of population is so superior to the power of earth to produce subsistence to humanity that premature death must in some shape or other visit the human race.” Thomas Malthus 1798

If you're not already being funded by the Rockefeller Foundation or some such group (which I imagine you are)'re really missing out.

You know, perhaps we'd take you a bit more seriously if you'd put your money where your mouth is and take yourself out.  I mean seriously, you're 63 or so which puts you well past your "vital" years (at best) and in reality, you're probably much closer to the age in which you'll become a real burden on society; a "worthless eater."

Like Ernie always says: "Waitin' on you now."

I say to Frosty -- Hi, Hitler!!! This Aryan genocide psychopath wants only one language for the world ... German. Judging from this latest written prejudice, Frosty's thought process is not only dangerous -- it is cancerous it could cause a catastrophe larger than what flood had caused in Pakistan.

A multilinguist nation is a thousand times better than a nation that speaks just one language, just as a multilingual person is better than a person that cannot communicate and understand when to speak up is limited to only one language.  It sounds like a bigot's gag to me.

You are so wrong, Frosty. Ethnic wars are not caused by language. Language has never been the cause of World Wars. Don't be such a mean thug, Frosty. Speak up some sense.

Look, I'm an "America First"er as much as you are.  But the fact is what you write is a load of horse manure.  New Mexico has two official languages and it survives just fine.

Do I want to pay for multiple languages?  No.

Do I prefer English only?  Yes.

But to your statement that a nation needs one language only to survive?  HORSESH**

Your mind is a scary place Frosty, you couldn't be MORE wrong. The truth is actually 180 degrees opposed to your hyper nationalistic doublethink. America does not exist under border tyranny.
