US Terror-Bombs Civilian Areas, Not Russia
by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)
In all its wars of aggression, US forces attack civilian areas indiscriminately, massacring defenseless people - many thousands in Iraq, Syria and elsewhere.
In pursuing its imperial agenda, the human toll doesn't matter to US warmakers. Pentagon terror-bombing massacred civilians in Mosul, Raqqa and elsewhere.
Carnage continues daily in all US war theaters. Media scoundrels ignore it, supporting Washington's imperial agenda, reporting nothing about its high crimes of war and against humanity - quick to falsely blame Russia for virtually anything, including killing civilians in Syria its warplanes scrupulously try avoiding.
Civilian lives matter to Moscow, not Washington. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman General Igor Konashenkov earlier stressed and again on Monday, saying:
"The Russian Air Force does not strike populated areas in the Syrian Arab Republic" - in response to fabricated claims otherwise by the London-based so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a Western funded propaganda service hostile to Assad and Russia.
It lied claiming Russian warplanes struck heavily populated Idlib areas, killing and injuring dozens of civilians, Konashenkov adding:
"The statements by the Observatory, sourced to anonymous 'eyewitnesses' or 'volunteers,' are traditionally unsubstantiated and serve as an 'informational cover' for the activity of Al Nusra militants and affiliated warring factions."
"Following the additional reconnaissance, carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles, and in line with verified information received via other sources, the aircraft of the Russian Air Force task group delivered 10 strikes against terrorist facilities in the province of Idlib" in the last 24 hours.
"The facilities were located far from residential areas and included underground bases of militants, field arms depots, military hardware, multiple artillery rocket systems and workshops for equipping cars with explosives. Data is available regarding all of the delivered airstrikes," Konashenkov explained.
Militants and facilities struck were involved in attacking Russian military police officers positioned north and northeast of Hama in Idlib's de-escalation zone on September 19.
Their aim was capturing them, wanting them held as hostages, a US-orchestrated plot, using its terrorist foot soldiers to carry out the mission - foiled by Russian airpower, killing hundreds of al-Nusra attackers, destroying their foreign-supplied heavy weapons and equipment.
Russia and America are world's apart on Syria, pursuing polar opposite objectives.
Moscow supports the country's sovereign independence and territorial integrity. It's combating terrorists effectively.
America supports them, wanting Syria transformed into a US vassal state, its resources looted, the nation partitioned, its people exploited.
That's how imperialism works. Russia strongly opposes it, the good guy in the struggle for Syria's soul.
