Ad Urges Rational Behavior " Politicos in a Snit
"Don't vote this November. This is the only way to send them a clear message, you can no longer take us for granted, don't vote." Latinos for Reform, a VA-based group, has made an $80,000 ad buy with that message, set to start Tuesday in Nevada. "We're saying what a lot of people are feeling. It's the only way for Hispanics to stand up and demand some attention," Robert Deposada, Latinos for Reform's president told Ben Smith of Politico. "I can't ask people to support a Republican candidate who has taken a completely irresponsible and bordering on racist position on immigration." The ad, shown here in Spanish, and again in an English version that will not air, correctly urges people to change their behavior if they want to see any sort of change. Predictably, anyone and everyone who has a personal stake in the mechanations of the political class is upset. How dare anyone tell a battered wife her husband's professions of change are just hot air? Without your vote, Sharron Angle will win, cry the democrats. That's right, says Latinos for Reform, it is your vote, and they haven't earned it. “The best way to express any anger towards the 28-year incumbent is by going to the polls and voting for Sharron Angle,” say the republicans. You're throwing off one abuse spouse, retorts Latinos for Reform, don't try to find a new one at an anger management course. “We need legitimacy,” whines the entire political class and the sycophants that surround them. Nothing causes a sociopath more heartburn than ignoring them when they say jump or refusing to dance to their music. Now, if only the rest of the population would recognize the abuse at the hands of their governmental masters and do something productive that day. |
