In the afterglow of their successful Rosetta comet mission, ministers of the European Space Agency Council meeting in Luxembourg on Dec. 2nd, 2014 approved funding for a new 3-stage launcher. The modular Ariane 6 can launch with two or four boosters and inject more than one major payload into different orbits.
