and as a founding member of its Board of Directors since December 2002.
He is responsible for managing the Center's day-to-day operations and
facilitating all research projects and issue development.
"Alan previously served as Colorado Governor Bill Owens'
Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration and as his Special Assistant,
overseeing the state's census and redistricting related activities,
among other projects. In 1999 and 2000, Alan was Deputy Director of the
Governor's Office of Innovation and Technology. During his tenure, Alan
oversaw the development of this new division of the Governor's Office
and guided its growth from three employees in early 1999 to 17 by late
2000. In 2002, Alan served as Executive Director of the Colorado
Republican Party.
"From 1994 through 1998, Alan worked as Research Director for The Murphy Pintak Gautier Hudome Agency
in Falls Church, VA. There, he organized and oversaw research and
policy efforts for a number of winning campaigns, including
now-Governor Jeb Bush of Florida. In 1993 and 1994, Alan served as Research Director for Americans for Tax Reform Foundation,
where he developed the annual Cost of Government Day project, measuring
the number of days into the calendar year that Americans must work to
pay for the cost of government.
"A native of San Jose, California, Alan received his Bachelor's
in Political Science from the University of California, Davis in 1991.
He obtained a Master's in Political Science from The American
University in Washington, D.C. in 1995."
