Is Obama’s presidency threatened?
07-20-2009

The New Delhi Statesman Rajinder Puri
Even while US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pursues her five-day
visit to India, an event has occurred in the USA that could conceivably
snowball into a major controversy to cut short President Obama’s
tenure.
Article 2, Section 1 of the US Constitution states: “No person except a
US born citizen… shall be eligible to the office of President.”
During the last US campaign a controversy arose about Obama’s
birthplace. Critics were unsure if he was born in the USA or Kenya.
Obama’s campaign committee released a Hawaiian birth certificate on 13
June, 2008. Sceptics alleged that it had signs of forgery.
Obama maintained he was born in Hawaii. One hospital, Honolulu ‘s
Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women and Children, claims it received a
letter from the President declaring his birth there. But White House
Press Secretary Robert Gibbs refused to authenticate the letter. For
nearly six months the hospital proudly declared Obama was born at its
facility to

Libertarian Blog Marginalized By Google

Just a Girl in Short Shorts
Through the Google Blogger flagging system, a number of readers of a libertarian blog, Just a Girl in Short Shorts, who disagreed with the politics and ideology have managed to marginalize, censor and very possibly ended the blog. The blog has been labeled as "offensive content" --a warning splash page inserted, and the moderately popular blog has been de-indexed in the search engines.

I would like to make a couple of comments. The core working component is a sphere coated with a thin layer of aluminum. It could not be any simpler. Their contribution has been to size down to nanometer scale. That way they are able to approach physical limits of charge concentration while also maximizing available surface area. So far so good.
Rather importantly, third party participants can observe demonstrations of the characteristics of the spheres even one at a time. That makes a convincing proof of concept long before anyone sees real product.

Bøhmer experimented with the concept for a decade, inspired by the simplicity of a solar device invented in 1767 by Swiss physicist Horace-Bénédict de Saussure. The cooker, which consists of two boxes nestled inside each other and topped with Plexiglas to trap the sun’s rays, has evolved from a homemade cardboard contraption to a $6 plastic version that went into mass production this spring.
