“I agree with what Angela Merkel said … that he is in another world,” said Madeleine Albright, “It doesn’t make any sense.”
John Kerry made his contribution to the bonkers theory by implying
that Putin was channeling Napoleon: “You don’t just, in the 21st
century, behave in 19th century fashion by invading another country on a
completely trumped-up pretext.”
Now that Putin has taken Crimea without firing a shot, and 95 percent
of a Crimean electorate voted Sunday to reunite with Russia, do his
decisions still appear irrational?
Was it not predictable that Russia, a great power that had just seen
its neighbor yanked out of Russia’s orbit by a U.S.-backed coup in Kiev,

held for two centuries? Current News | Contents By Subject

1 Comments in Response to Is Putin the Irrational One?
While you don't push too hard against someone that is president of a dictatorship, if it isn't a complete dictatorship, and if it has a parliament, the members of the parliament also have their say. While Putin might be pushing for certain things, if the Russian Parliament is considerably against his ideals, he will back off. If he doesn't, in Russia they have some serious methods for removing a president when necessary.
In America, on the other hand, the president can be controlled by the Congress in many different ways without impeaching him. So, why isn't our Congress controlling our President?
