The theft is complete: Fiat Completes Acquisition of Chrysler Assets
06-10-2009
•
NY Times
With the touch of pen to paper and a simple wire transfer, Chrysler completed its deal with Fiat on Wednesday morning, largely ending its quick trip through bankruptcy.
The last obstacle to an exit " a temporary stay imposed by the Supreme Court
" was lifted late Tuesday, after the nine justices declined to hear a
challenge of the deal by three Indiana state funds and several consumer
groups.

Parabolic mirrors concentrate a lot of energy over the cross section of the energy collector and the intent is to drive the temperature as high as is safe. That means that the working fluid is the primary design constraint. These fluids go to 300 C plus and remain fluid under the temperature of boiling water.

Obama's Candor Refreshing, His Policies, Not So Much
06-10-2009
•
KokeshforCongress.com
By Adam Kokesh, on Jun 5, 2009
President
Obama delivered a speech yesterday at Cairo University that has already
been noted around the world as unique for its candor. It has been
translated into thirteen languages and stirred emotions throughout the
Middle East. There were a number of issues that he raised that we do
not hear about very often from politicians in Washington, let alone the
President himself. Unfortunately, his policies are all too typical of
the establishment.
He buttered up the audience with praise of Muslims' contributions to
civilization before he went straight into Afghanistan. “We did not go
by choice, we went because of necessity. . . . Make no mistake: We do
not want to keep our troops in Afghanistan.” Perhaps there was a
necessity to pursue some legitimate target after 9/11, which he
invoked, bu

Truth Nuke
Where are we to turn as the United States retreats from its roots,
and begins to institute a socialistic agenda? Are we a country of and
by the people anymore?
Obama and crew would like to create a national health care program
in which every person must submit, possible life saving care, to the
Federal government. Based on their record of accomplishment, I wouldn’t
trust them to watch my dog, clean my pool, or even change the lining in
my cockatiel’s cage.

But he never imagined his neighborhood would drop off the charts. In April, a slightly larger home two doors away sold for $66,500. That's just over half the $130,000 it went for new in 1992. In 2005, that house sold for $330,000.

Banks' (Quasi) Independence Day

The New York Times leads with the Treasury Department's decision to allow 10 of the nation's biggest banks
to repay the cash they received under the Troubled Asset Relief
Program. Some of the biggest names in finance"including JPMorgan Chase,
Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley"plan to return a total of $68.3
billion, more than one-quarter of the bailout money the government has
given to banks since October. By giving back the money, they will free
themselves from a slew of federal restrictions while retaining their
ability to rely on a variety of government programs, including issuing
debt that is guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

Bribing Pentagon Contractors? I'm so shocked!
06-10-2009
•
AP
Pentagon employees have received millions of dollars in free travel and
lodging from foreign countries, trade groups and companies with an
interest in shaping policies or doing business with the US military.
Defense officials say the arrangement is legal, saves taxpayers money and is carefully monitored to ensure there are no conflicts of interest.
But government watchdogs say it allows donors to subtly exert influence
for a small investment compared with the potential gain.

Administration to issue new Wall Street pay curbs
06-10-2009
•
AP
An up and coming Wall Street executive might
want to hold off on buying that condo in Aspen. The Obama
administration is ready to issue broad new guidelines that would rein
in pay at financial institutions.
Eager to remove incentives that they say contributed to last year's financial crisis,
President Obama's
economic team plans to unfurl broad executive pay principles that put a premium on long-term performance over
short-term gain.

Readying Americans for Dangerous, Mandatory Vaccinations
Stephen Lendman
At least three US federal laws should concern all Americans and
suggest what may be coming - mandatory vaccinations for hyped,
non-existant threats, like H1N1 (Swine Flu). Vaccines and drugs like
Tamiflu endanger human health but are hugely profitable to drug company
manufacturers.
The Project BioShield Act of 2004 (S. 15) became law on July
21, 2004 "to provide protections and countermeasures against chemical,
radiological, or nuclear agents that may be used in a terrorist attack
against the United States by giving the National Institutes of Health
contracting flexibility, infrastructure improvements, and expediting
the scientific peer review process, and streamlining the Food and Drug
Administration approval process of countermeasures."
In other words, the FDA may now recklessly approve inadequately
tested, potentially dangerous vaccines and other drugs if ever the
Secretaries of Health and Human Services (HHS) or Defense (DOD) decl
