Fannie Mae asks Treasury for aid
08/06/09
•
BBC
The mainstream news has been derelict in showing the public the corruption and fraud that took place within these agencies. These are of course things non partisan professional journalists would have done however the mainstream news reporters now are paid corporate shills. I have a few links I hope you will view after reading this article.
US mortgage finance firm Fannie Mae has asked the Treasury for another $10.7bn, (£6.4bn) as it announced a loss for the second three months of 2009.
Fannie Mae reported a loss of $15.2bn, but it was smaller than the $23.2bn it lost in the previous quarter.
It is the third time that Fannie Mae has requested government aid in recent months. It received $15.2bn in March.
Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac buy mortgages from approved lenders then sell them to investors. Together they underwrite more than half of all US mortgages, worth about $5.4 trillion.
Fannie's latest request takes the amount which the pair have requested from the US Treasury t

Senate Confirms Radical Anti-gunner to the U.S. Supreme Court
8/06/09
•
GOA
The Senate easily confirmed the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court. Only 31 Senators took seriously their oath to uphold the Constitution and voted against this radical anti-gun nominee, with 68 voting for confirmation.
All the Democrats in attendance voted for Sotomayor, while nine Republicans joined their ranks.
The Republican Senators who voted for Sotomayor were: Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Christopher Bond of Missouri, Judd Gregg of New Hampshire, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, Mel Martinez of Florida, George Voinovich of Ohio and Susan Collins and Olympia J. Snowe of Maine.
Many Democrat Senators campaigned on a pro-Second Amendment platform, yet voted to confirm a nominee who does not believe you have a fundamental right to self defense or an individual right to possess a firearm.

Key Lawmaker Received Countrywide Loans
Democratic Panel Chief Resists Move to Subpoena 'VIP'
08/07/09
•
WSJ
A powerful House Democrat who has turned down a Republican's call to subpoena records of a mortgage program at Countrywide Financial Corp. received two home loans from the lender.
Some information in the lawmaker's mortgage documents raises the possibility they were made through the program, which provided loans to public figures and other favored borrowers often at lower interest rates or with lower origination fees than were available to the general public.
The loans were made to Rep. Edolphus Towns of New York, who heads the House Oversight and Government Reform committee. The panel's ranking Republican, California Rep. Darrell Issa, has been pushing to have the committee subpoena mortgage records showing who received loans through Countrywide's VIP program -- operated under former Chief Executive Angelo Mozilo and known within the company as "Friends of Angelo."

Experts: Expect the Worst for the Economy
08/06/2009
•
Newsmax
NEW WORLD ORDER ALERT! Is the U.S. economy now in the eye of a hurricane about to be hit again with still fiercer winds? Another humongous credit crunch and major social dislocations are predicted as millions of jobs fail to come back.
In his projections through 2025, Thomas Fingar, the former chief analyst for the 100,000-strong U.S. Intelligence Community, which includes 16 agencies with a budget of $50 billion, predicted the international system would be transformed over the next 15 years as dramatically as it was after World War II.
As China rises to global prominence, the United States would be declining. "In terms of size, speed, and directional flow," wrote Fingar, "the transfer of wealth and economic power now under way " from West to East " is without precedent in human history."
Following Fingar's analysis, former Deputy Treasury Secretary Robert Altman wrote in Foreign Affairs, the official organ of the Council on Foreign Relations, that the curr

Goldman: Get Ready For Oil Prices To Go Back To $147
08/06/2009
•
The Business Insider
Goldman Sachs is once again warning the world of a coming spike in oil prices that will remind everyone of 2008.
The current financial crisis is to blame. While we focus on fixing the banking sector, we've forgotten that there are fundamental problems with the commodites markets.
The spike from 2008 will return because there's been "decades" of poor investment decisions by oil producers.

David Rosenberg: 'Clunkers' Exposes Government Stupidity
08/06/2009
•
The Business Insider
We couldn't believe this when we saw this quote from the U.S. Transportation Secretary (Ray Lahood) in yesterday's NYT (page B3) on the “Cash for Clunkers” program: “There obviously is a real pent-up demand in America ... people love to buy cars, and we've given them the incentive to do that. I think the last thing that any politician wants to do is cut off the opportunity for somebody who's going to be able to get a rebate from the government to buy a new vehicle.”
Are you kidding me? If there is pent-up demand for autos why do we need a
rebate? If there are 20% more vehicles than there are licensed drivers, why the need to perpetuate this cycle of overspending? Why is it a politician's job to create incentives to spend? Shouldn't they be focusing their attention on health, education, defense, infrastructure, public safety, job skills and
productivity growth (and perhaps the youth unemployment rate of around
20%)? We're not exactly espousing an

History is the sum total of things that could have been avoided”
- Konrad Adenauer, First Chancellor of the Federal Republic of West Germany.
I can remember the feeling I had when he spoke. At last, I said, here’s somebody who can get us out of this mess.
(Campbell, Susan Bartoletti. Hitler Youth: Growing Up in Hitler’s Shadow. New York: Scholastic, Inc. 2005, Pg. 19. )
He was so convincing on the speaker’s platform and appeared to be so sincere in what he said that the majority of his listeners were ready to believe almost anything good about him because they wanted to believe it.
As time went on, it became clear that he thought of himself as the Messiah.
He was the greatest orator Germany had ever known. Most amazing of all: he did it without a teleprompter. The comparisons between Hitler and Obama, while offensive to many, were inevitable. They both had the benefit of oratory skills and could deliver a stirring speech with minimal substance. They pitched

BLATANT Monetization Uncovered

The Market Ticker/Zero Hedge/Chris Martenson
Remember the Dallas Fed's Fisher saying that "The Fed will not become the handmaiden of Treasury"?
He was lying (The Fed already has), and now there is proof.
Mad props to both Zerohedge and Chris Martenson for noticing this; I missed the facts buried in the CUSIP list.
The upshot: The Fed bought nearly half of LAST WEEK'S 7 year Treasury Issuance TODAY.
Huh? Remember, after the 5 year auction that went badly (and which I wrote about) the 7yr auction went "well." Rick Santelli (and a lot of other people) agreed - demand was strong. That made no sense to me at the time, coming one day after a near-failure in the 5 year.
Well now we know what happened: The Fed pretty clearly pre-arranged, either explicitly or by "suggestion", that the Primary Dealers take up the auction with the promise that The Fed would immediately monetize half what the Primary Dealer's took!
Folks, this is beyond bad - it is pernicious and outrageous conduct by The F

Florida: Protests, passions roiling town hall meeting on health care

Tampa Bay Online
It's getting ugly at what is supposed to be a town hall forum on President Barack Obama's health care reform plan.
The forum features Tampa legislators U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor and state Rep. Betty Reed and was scheduled to start at 6 p.m. Castor has not been able to speak because protestors keep shouting her down.

Public is Resisting Obama's Liberal Agenda
8/06/09

real Clear Politics
Why does President Obama want to implement all at once radical changes in American foreign policy, environmental policy, education, health care and the tax code?
The answer is easy: If he does not achieve these initiatives soon, he never will.
Almost none of Obama's proposed policies any longer enjoy majority support among voters -- and many of them were not clearly outlined to voters during the campaign.
Current polls show more Americans are against than in favor of his version of health-care reform. Nearly seven in 10 are wary of government takeovers of the economy, like the bank and car bailouts. Over half do not want more borrowing and higher deficits.

Oh, the horrors of Socialized medicine! Read about the horrible things that Communist countries like Cuba do to their citizens via their true Socialist healthcare.
This should be an eye opener for the idiots who, while knowing nothing about socialized medicine, still scream that adopting such a system is Socialism (even if they don't know what that means) and parrot fearmongering claims that a socialized system of medicine will kill people.

You know that the 12 Federal Reserve Banks are owned by private banksters.

But you probably don't know who owns BIS or how it is regulated.
Spiegel provided the answer last month:

FBI translator Sibel Edmonds: Osama Bin Laden worked for US until 9/11
08-06-2009
•
pakalert.wordpress.com/
Former FBI translator Sibel Edmonds dropped a bombshell on the Mike Malloy radio show, guest-hosted by Brad Friedman
In the interview, Sibel says that the
US maintained ‘intimate relations’ with Bin Laden, and the Taliban,
“all the way until that day of September 11.”
These ‘intimate relations’ included
using Bin Laden for ‘operations’ in Central Asia, including Xinjiang,
China. These ‘operations’ involved using al Qaeda and the Taliban in
the same manner “as we did during the Afghan and Soviet conflict,” that
is, fighting ‘enemies’ via proxies.
As Sibel has previously described,
and as she reiterates in this latest interview, this process involved
using Turkey (with assistance from ‘actors from Pakistan, and
Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia’) as a proxy, which in turn used Bin Laden
and the Taliban and others as a proxy terrorist army.

Former agency translator called to testify in Ohio election case this Saturday on Turkish infiltration of U.S. government...
Unless
the Dept. of Justice re-invokes their twice-invoked "state secrets
privilege" claim in order to once again gag former FBI
translator-turned-whistleblower Sibel Edmonds, her attorneys have
notified the department by hand-delivered, sworn letter of declaration [PDF] this week, that she intends to give a deposition,

Edmonds has confirmed her intentions to answer any questions asked
of her during the sworn proceedings, fully and publicly, during
conversations with The BRAD BLOG
this week. She notes that her agreement with her former employer, the
FBI --- who fired her illegally after she filed whistleblower
allegations about corruption and foreign infiltration in the
