City Workers Must Wear Underwear and Use Deodorant

The revision instructs employees to observe "strict personal hygiene,"
including the use of deodorant. It lists "the observable lack of
undergarments and exposed undergarments" as "unacceptable attire."
It also prohibits clothing with foul language or messages promoting
drug use, "sexually provocative" garments, halter tops and piercings
anywhere except the ears.

Arizona appointed cops fight concealed gun proposal

Law-enforcement officials are working to quash a proposal that would
allow gun owners in Arizona to carry concealed weapons without a permit.
The proposal, which is scheduled to be heard today in the Senate
Judiciary Committee, has sparked a debate over what restrictions should
be placed on gun owners who wish to carry weapons in public buildings,
schools and other places.

House eyes new taxes as senators pare health bill

A proposal to help bankroll universal health coverage with a dime-a-can increase in the price of soft drinks.
House Democrats have lots of potential targets
for higher taxes as they aim to expand health care coverage to reach
the roughly 50 million that experts say are uninsured.
Also under consideration are higher alcohol taxes, increases to the
Medicare payroll tax and a value-added tax, a sort of national sales
tax, of up to 1.5 percent or more.
The list of options being weighed by the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee.
