NYT War-Monger, Hate-Monger, Neocon Extremist Bret Stephens

The Wall Street Journal transplant is an over-the-top right-wing extremist.

Hardline Times editorial page editor James Bennet reinvented him, saying he "brings to the job profound intellectual depth, honesty and bravery."

His pseudo-journalism features disinformation, misinformation, Big Lies and fake news — a Times specialty.

Hostile to Trump, he supports US hegemonic aims, its wars by other means on Iran and Venezuela, along with endless wars of aggression against nonbelligerent states threatening no one.

Before joining the Wall Street Journal as a foreign affairs columnist and deputy editorial page editor, he was editor-in-chief of the right-wing Jerusalem Post, based in the city.

He cheerleads military force, supports neoliberal harshness, and deplores peace, equity and justice.

In the run-up to Bush/Cheney's 2003 Iraq aggression, he lied claiming if left unchecked, the country would likely become the Arab world's first nuclear power.

He falsely called the JCPOA Iran nuclear deal worse than UK Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain's 1938 "peace in our time" agreement with Adolph Hitler — a year before WW II officially began.

In May 2017, Fairness & Accuracy in Reporting (FAIR) slammed Stephens for supporting waterboarding, a form of torture, defined by the UN as "any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a person" — a crime against humanity.

FAIR called Stephens a racist for falsely referring to "the disease of the Arab mind" and accusing Palestinians of having a "communal psychosis" — demeaning their right to be free from Israel's repressive boot.

Earlier he denigrated "the Black Lives Matter movement," falsely saying it "metastasized into the big lie of America, land of the irredeemably racist," adding:

"For BLM and its cadres, there is no moral agency in the black community, no choices African-Americans can make for themselves to shape their own destiny for good or ill."

FAIR slammed the NYT for hiring an unapologetic "bigot," adding: The Times champions establishment/business interests "against the populist left."

It limits debate to between neoliberals and neocons, excluding pro-peace, equity and justice voices.

In its latest edition, Stephens falsely called Vladimir Putin a "dictator," ignoring Russia's democratic process, world's apart from the rigged US money-controlled one with no legitimacy.

He lied suggesting Putin murdered Boris Nemtsov in early 2015 — omitting mention of his close State Department and other Western ties.

His killing was strategically timed ahead of a Russian Spring anti-government opposition march with US dirty hands all over it — transformed into a memorial rally for an anti-Putin/pro-Western opportunist/stooge.

At the time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said "Putin has stressed that this brutal murder has all (the) signs of a contract murder and is extremely provocative."

Nemtsov was a Western financed self-serving opportunist. His killing had all the earmarks of a US-staged false flag.

Clearly Putin had nothing to gain. Rogue US elements had lots to benefit from trying to destabilize Russia.

If Putin wanted Nemtsov dead, it's inconceivable he'd have ordered a Mafia-style contract killing near the Kremlin.

Stephens praised convicted embezzler Alexey Navalny, another US supported self-serving opportunist with scant popular support, falsely saying he "has been in and out of prison on various trumped-up charges" — a bald-faced Big Lie.

Stephens is a Russophobic, Iranophobic, Islamophobic hate-mongering war-monger — supporting monied interests over the general welfare.

Like many other establishment media propagandists, he's likely a CIA asset — used by Langley to serve its interests, how the Times operates.
