My Views of Ron Paul
• LetterDec. 2011, a few friends encouraged me to publicly share my perspective politically, my views of Ron Paul.It has engaged and angered me intellectually, scrutinizing more closely today's overt political persistence of flagrant, haughty, whoring, inept:
Dereliction of Duty.
I knew nothing prior of Ron Paul. A Republican from Texas running for President. What else needs to be said? What else needs to be known?
Spring the steel trap of my mind.
With an open countenance searching for facts, I quickly discovered Ron Paul is the only candidate who sees clearly the catastrophic ruin we are hurtling into. America is in flames. This is not a spectator sport.
IMO Elected Republicans post 9/11:
President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, all of them, their whole war cabinet, chicken hawks. God anointed Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell. The whole family values chorus of Evangelical extremists. Control freaks. Endless wars, special interests. Inhuman rape and pillaging of 3rd world country resources. Mass murder heroes. Empire builders, bullying about the planet recklessly, unlawfully, violently, stealing what ever they regard as theirs. Republicans love their Bibles and their wars. Republicans destroy the environment. Republicans hate science. Republicans have hatred down to a science. Republicans use their God as a weapon for what-ever war they wage. Social wars, political wars. Onward Christian soldiers, flagrantly careening down a one way street, oblivious that life is a two-way highway. This is the short list. If Republicans are going to heaven I sure as hell have no intention of being there.
When Obama was elected President. My prayer was we could be a beacon of hope to the rest of the world because of his ability to speak and the color of his skin. My prayer was that we could embrace the human race. Our great nation, once again to be a great nation. I drank the cool aid. I am guilty of being an idiot.
I know now the political system today is a charade of musical chairs. Republicans and Democrats are one and the same. Politics is a maze of mirrors and the puppets exchanged.
IMO Elected Democrats post 2008 presidential election: Ditto.
Wall Street bank bailouts, NDAA, Renewal of the Patriot Act. No immediate end to Iraq as promised. Expanding the war in Afghanistan. Guantanamo Bay Cuba. Actions in Libya in violation of the War Powers Act. Drones to murder an American citizen without due process in Yemen. Expanding the defense budget that is rapidly bankrupting this country. Trillions of dollars in deficit spending. This is the short list. I am jaded politically. I was in the Hope and Change choir.
Nothing has Changed and Hope is for kids on Christmas Eve.
Those of us living in America as American Citizens, who are Americans? Are gay people any more or less Americans than the Evangelical Christians? Are the disenfranchised Occupy Wall Street protesters any more or less Americans than successful law-abiding businessmen? Are peaceful Muslims any more or less Americans citizens than those following the teachings of Christ? Are Rich people any more or less American than poor people?
Black, brown, red, yellow, white. What gives here? We are all Americans.
What can one person do? How can anybody, who is nobody, having nothing, coming from nowhere, possibly make a difference in the alligator swamp surrounded by the hyenas salivating over an America, soon to be their financial and human resource carcass?
Remain independent without prejudice. Encourage the introduction of unfamiliar thought. Be inclusive, compassionate. Embrace the whole, in the midst of political and societal upheaval on all fronts. Welcome controversy. Welcome constructive criticism. Respect contrary opinion. Know there is no single solution but there are premises that lead to greater inclusion. Encourage unheard voices of common sense. Share the remedies for complex situations. Recognize the frailness of the human being and pin not your hopes on one man. Pin not your hopes on any one particular persuasion of political ideology. Do not sit to close to the flame.
Become the fire that is burning.
Liberty is my foundation. I'm in for the duration. Ron Paul (Without Apology) is my Revolution.

As you travel deeper within your heart you will find the deep principles....and you and I and Ron Paul and so many others can't help but unite.

Thanks Richard for a very illuminating letter. In Canada we watch with wonder as the Republican primaries unfold. We gaze in amazement as all the talk is about Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich...and trust me that is scary. I am positive that if Ron Paul had the money backing him to get his word out to the mainstream media, and if the mainstream media had the intestinal fortitude to actually report and print those words, there would be cause for hope and change. In the 1960's the people made a difference. When they marched on Washington re civil rights and Vietnam the gov't had no choice but to listen. Now the country faces a different kind of crisis. Top heavy gov't gridlock and partisan politics. It's time to say that the people have had enough. The people will not put up with this anymore. One voice at a time. One vote at a time. That time is now and it is time for change. Not back to the George W. Bush war mongering and not back to the Obama hope and change via smoke and mirrors. It's time for real change. The American people owe it to themselves to look at alternatives. My friends to the south, please take a look at Ron Paul. If you like what he says then contribute to getting the word out because if you don't it's just going to be more of the same. You deserve better.
I'm 47 and never really paid much attention to politics until the neo-con aberration reared it's ugly head. I thought Obama was going to do great things, but sheesh, on paper, he's a neo-con too! Our system is so completely corrupt, I don't believe in Dem/Repub, Left-Right anymore. It's Them against Us. Now that I know what's going on, the lesser of two evils isn't an option for me anymore. Ron Paul or none at all.
Amen! Thank you! I, myself, have been guilty of burying my head in the sand (so to speak) for far too long. To my way of thinking elections were (maybe are) rigged and nothing ever changes , over promised and under kept pretty much my whole life long. Born American and raised American and in my 48 years alive have watched everything go from bad to worse all the while trying not to see, hoping it would just "get right" someday. That day has yet to come and for the VERY FIRST time in my adult life I am actually seeing what looks way too close to being the end for comfort. I began to actively pay attention and see so much wrong. Ron Paul looks like the only hope this country might actually have. That would be with a capitol " H"ell Yes!! and Ron Paul will get the second vote I will have EVER made.
