Revelation Chapter 13, Verses 16, 17 and 18 from the Concordant version, which is a direct word for word translation of the Greek text, not an interpretation:     

16:  And it is causing all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free and the slaves, that they may be giving them an emblem on their right hand, or on their forehead,      

17: and that no one may be able to buy or sell except the one having the emblem of the wild beast, or its name, or the number of its name.     

18:  Here is wisdom. Let him who has a mind calculate the number of the wild beast, for it is the number of mankind, and its number is six hundred sixty-six.   

I believe there is much misunderstanding surrounding what these well known verses are actually saying. It is typically thought that the number 666 is the number of the "antichrist" (the beast). What the text actually says is that it is the number of the beast\'s name, but that it is the number of mankind.   

One thing that almost all scholars agree on regarding the book of Revelation is that there are layers of meaning. For example, the "beast" refers to what is commonly believed to be the person of the antichrist presiding over the global (or at least western) power structure at the end of the age. But the text indicates that 666 represents 3 things: the emblem of the beast, the number of its name, and it is the number of mankind. In other words, the primary thing that 666 represents is MANKIND...it secondarily represents the "antichrist". This will make sense if you stick with me here.   

One layer of meaning to the word beast is the obvious one, which is referring to a world leader at the end of the age. Another more gnostic meaning is that the beast is the body, as opposed to the spirit. The primary objective in life being to grow spiritually so as to make the beast (body) serve the spirit rather than the other way around. So why would the number 666 represent the human body? Very simply because we are carbon-based life forms, and 666 is the atomic number of carbon, 6 protons, 6 neutrons, 6 electrons. Therefore, to accept this "mark" (possibly an RFID chip) would be the ultimate and final rejection of the spirit. It would be to declare that I am a beast, not a spirit...to "sell my soul" for material commerce...to be branded as livestock (a beast) and giving allegiance to the anti-christ consciousness in exchange for food, clothing and shelter for the body (beast).   

So what is being described in those 3 verses of Revelation? A global leader or possibly just a global system (read verse 16 carefully), at the end of the age (end of the age of Pisces presumably, which is where we are now) instituting a global system based on the "number of mankind" (the carbon atom) by which all global commerce and life itself will be regulated and controlled.   

And what is being set up in Copenhagen right now? A global system based on the "number of mankind" (CARBON...CARBON CREDITS) by which all global commerce and life itself will be regulated and controlled.
