Bin Laden's Death Wrought Justice

• Column

Dear Editor,

To Lee Wrights and Ray McGovern's guilt-ridden assertions that we should not celebrate the assassination (which is exactly what it was) of Osama bin Laden or question the benefits of such an act, I say nonsense!

The celebrations, in fact, they make perfect sense, especially in New York and Washington DC.

Bin Laden's death may be little more than symbolic, but it is a very important none the less. Bin Laden's death at the hands of U.S. forces is a symbol of justice being rendered. At long last, a smug and self-righteous mass murderer got what he deserved -- a bullet in the head and a watery grave. Excellent plan.

 Sincerely,

 Mike Renzulli

Just remember, you could be on Obama's or whomever's list in the near future.

But I will agree such a targeted assassination is better than our numerous wars of butchery and theft---if that is what you meant.

The killing of Osama bin Laden
05-04-2011 R. Lee Wrights

See what I mean? The killing is perceived as "assassination"… not good for Obama. There is a lot of them out there whose reality is totally different, out of this world you might say. They cooked up those 911 conspiracy theories, i.e. THERE WERE NO HIJACKED TERRORIST-MANNED AIRLINES THAT STRUCK THE TWIN TOWERS AND THE PENTAGON BUILDING!!! What was shown on television on that day of infamy was just Hollywood technology.

The conclusion that Obama will win his bid for the 2012 re-election because of worldwide adulation that he killed Osama bin Laden is hogwash. Millions of supporters of Osama bin Laden in the U.S. -- millions of the enemy within who hate America as the world’s "Evil Empire", those battalions of ax-wielders obsessed to caponize the power of our Military Industrial Complex and turn this mighty profit-hoarder into a capon or neuter enterprise; war-haters and hordes of bucket-kickers wanting to get rid of the Federal Reserves; paper-rebels from the ranks of millions of revolutionary Libertarians swearing against the Federal Government, and don’t forget those head-banging radicals of the Left and Right that march down the streets beating their drums of protests, etc. – all of them will argue and bring an avalanche of friends to the polls who believe that the killing of Osama bin Laden if true was in fact "murder".

And still millions of the in-between American population will counter-ask Obama if indeed it was "murder", where is the CORPUS DELICTI? They want to see the body of the crime … not just the body brought forth by excessive emission of saliva from the president’s mouth.

The prima facie showing of the Corpus Delicti is necessary to establish not just a visual assurance but also to establish a moral certainty to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Osama bin Laden is dead.

And there was none!

Americans Blind-Sided Over The Death Of Osama bin Laden http://www.freedomsphoenix.com/Letter-to-Editor.htm?EdNo=001&Info=0145156.

I wrote a letter to the editor. I don’t know why this blindside was discriminated against – denied a space in the front page. No explanation. Date of Letter: 2011-05-12. Had it appeared in the front page, all these comments below including the "writer’s reply", wouldn’t have made any sense at all. Compare Renzulli’s opinion, and you will see the light – not the blindside -- over the death of Osama bin Laden.

You know what would have been really awesome justice, and not just symbolic?

Take him into custody, charge him with a crime, assign him the best team of lawyers money can buy, have a real trial, and convict him of the crime.

Then, put him in general pop. of a medium security prison.
