It’s stressful to think of another presidential election pitting the Elephant vs. the Donkey.  The Republican and Democratic parties batter the reputations of both animals, as well as, the horse.

The 2012 Republican Primary/Caucus Season is clearly not a two person horse race with the finish clearly ahead.  The status quo media’s effort to make and call a two person horse race between status quo Romney and their status quo pick of the month has left egg on their faces.  First it was Bachman, then Perry, then Cain, then Santorum, then Huntsman, and then Gingrich.  How many times can they be wrong?   First it’s not a quick horse race between their picks.  It’s a marathon race of seven months to the finish. For instance, only 75 of the 2286 convention delegates have been won.  And, to date Romney, Santorum, Paul and Gingrich have respectively earned 3, 2, 2, and 1 top three finishes in the first three primary states. And secondly it’s not a race between status quo candidate vs. status quo candidate as the media would have your believe.  It is a race pitting the status quo vs. positive change with candidate Ron Paul.  

It is amusing to think that Paul sees the race between himself (Big Dog budget cutter to help end the status quo’s spending and borrowing binge) and a pack of little shih tzu dogs who cuddle up to and are hand carried by the status quo power structure which promotes bigger government, bigger banks, and bigger multinational corporations. 

This is unfair to the Chinese Shih tzu and to dogs in general.  To be more realistic and more accurate we really have the trusted and protective family dog (Paul) vs. the skunk, the weasel and the rat. The reader should assign the appropriate name to Romney, Santorum and Gingrich. 

 Will the lemmings (voters) do what lemmings are programmed to do or will they break free and become avatars of the dog and join the pack?  Exactly who will they pick to run against the media’s status quo jack ass?
