Article in Arizona Republic boggles the mind

Dear Paige, (and staff)

A tremendous front-page self-defense story on Christmas Eve, involving a daring good Samaritan and a rescued sexual-abuse victim, was buried on page ten, with only a single closing sentence hinting at the truth ("The man who shot the suspect will not be charged."). This has become a major scandal in the "news" industry, hiding or disguising stories about people using guns to save innocent lives, which preserves the false narrative that guns serve no useful purpose.

Similar situations occur constantly nationwide all year long, getting little or no coverage, distorting the public's perception. The First-Responder hero in this case wasn't even named, but the vicious felony suspect was pictured and named seven times. "Officials" say the publicity does not encourage copycats. Media observers and civil-rights activists involved in Second Amendment issues have denounced the practice for decades but journalists and editors seem immune to the critiques, conducting business as usual, of which the story below is just the tip of the iceberg. No?
