Lyrics by Starchild
As always with these song revisions I write, it works best if you listen to the music of the original while reading the lyrics so you can imagine how it would sound.

“Channels On TV”
[To the tune of “Seasons In The Sun”]
[This version would start out with sound of white noise on a TV set, then the sound of the channel being changed just before the vocals begin]
Goodbye to family, house and home
We can’t afford to make good on the loan
After taxes what we make
Just won’t cut it I’m afraid
Warplanes, bailouts, Medicaid
Goodbye to fiat currency
You've had a good run since 1913
Did you have fun mister chair
Creating money out of air?
Markets went from bull to bear
We had wealth we had peace, we had channels on TV
But the State grew too strong, now our freedoms are all gone
Goodbye Ron Paul you fought for us
Warned of the housing bubble, boom and bust
Welfare and war we can’t sustain
Tried to minimize the pain
Please don’t let it be in vain
Goodbye our rightful president
Honest and humble in your brave dissent
Sparked a movement with your run
Spoke to our generation
Hope that we can trust your son
We had wealth we had peace, oil in the Middle East
But the policies were wrong, and the wars went on too long
We had joy we had fun, we had seasons in the sun
But the State grew too strong, now our freedoms are all gone
Goodbye to civil liberties
Our Bill of Rights protections rest in peace
Riot police and poison gas
Orwell’s nightmare come to pass
This transmission is the last
Goodbye my friends it’s time to go
Pack up the gear and head out in the snow
Now R3VOLution’s in the air
We will find our Tahrir Square
Send a signal when you’re there
We had joy we had fun, we had seasons in the sun
But the flag that we flew wasn’t what we thought we knew
We had wealth we had peace, we had channels on TV
But the State grew too strong, now our freedoms are all gone
We’ll have joy we’ll have fun, we’ll have seasons in the sun
But the price we must pay has a heavy cost today
We’ll have wealth we’ll have peace, we’ll have Internet TV
But they won’t set you free, you must fight for liberty
[Last two stanzas would fade out gradually into white noise]
