DoD to request $622.6 billion for 2008

The Pentagon is expected to send Congress a $622.6 billion defense budget for 2008. The sum includes $141.7 billion to continue fighting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The numbers were confirmed by a Pentagon official Feb. 2.
