PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Senate is poised to broaden the state's restrictions on local gun-control laws.
State law already generally pre-empts local ordinances on transportation, possession, sale or use of firearms and ammunition, but the law given preliminary approved Thursday goes farther.
It would prohibit local governments from enacting laws more restrictive than state law and specifically prohibit ordinances that limit possession of guns in parks. Also, local governmentscould not regulate the discharge of firearms
