Military building robots that eat the dead

The Department of Defense has announced that it will explore the opportunities of adapting battlefield robots to enable consumption of bio-mass material. In layman's language, the military is investigating the possibility and benefits of creating corpse-eating robots. For those wondering why armed forces would even contemplate such a macabre idea the answer is simple: throughout history where armies go disease follows in their wake. The battlefield is no exception.
