The plane slid off the runway into a barrier with a fence on the North Service Road. Video from the scene showed the plane's nose on the embankment and passengers getting off of the plane by climbing down a wing. The video was apparently recorded by New York Giant player Larry Donnell, who happened to be on the flight.

Donnell's video also showed passengers walking away from the plane over a snow covered field. 127 passengers and 5 crew members were on board.

The plane is a Delta MD-80 that was arriving from Atlanta. The incident happened on runway 13, the Northwest heading runway that ends at the edge of Flushing Bay.

Passenger Aaron Smith was in Row 13 of the Flight 1086. He says the left wing of the plane was sheared off of the plane during the incident.

"Little shaken up," Smith said on Fox 5 News. "I don't think any of this is going to sink in until tomorrow."
