Take a Tour Inside a Battlebot

• motherboard.vice.com

A reporter with Tested (a site run by the guys from Mythbusters) went behind the scenes of the new Battlebots reboot to show you the anatomy of one of these tough-ass bots.

Tested interviewed the team behind the HyperShock bot, which has a carbon-fiber chassis that was molded in an oven the team somehow made out of a toaster. Team captain Will Bales describes the process as a "giant arts-and-crafts project."

In Battlebots, two remote-controlled bots are pitted against each other for a three-minute match, and they basically just try to destroy each other. Bots can win by "knocking out" their competition during the match, but in the event both bots last the full three minutes, they get scored based on aggression, strategy, and damage.
