His main appointment is with President Obama at 11 am, when they will meet in the Oval Office for 30 minutes before posing for photographs, the White House said. Trump's wife, Melania, will meet with first lady Michelle Obama according to Bloomberg.

11:00 am, Trump meets with Obama in the Oval Office

12:30 pm, Trump and his vice president-elect, Mike Pence, will meet with House Speaker Paul Ryan for lunch.

2:45 pm, Pence and Biden will hold a closed-press meeting at the White House, the vice president's office said.

As we reported moments ago, Trump is actively lining up potential administration appointments, including former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani as a leading contender to serve as the DOJ's next attorney general and Michael McCaul as Homeland Security secretary. Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, a loyal Trump supporter, is interested in serving as defense secretary, the people said. Trump has told him he has his pick of cabinet positions. 

As Bloomberg adds, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said "the administration was hopeful it could illustrate to Trump during the meeting Thursday the downsides of unilaterally withdrawing from international agreements and highlight the benefits of preserving some continuity." But a senior Trump adviser lowered expectations, describing the meeting as primarily aimed at projecting confidence in U.S. government institutions.
