Freedom of speech means that the government won't throw you in a cage for saying something it doesn't condone. Freedom of speech doesn't mean that you can do whatever you want on someone else's property.

What's your take on these same "private entities" petitioning the state on net neutrality legislation? I would buy the "someone else's property" argument more if they weren't simultaneously pushing for common carrier-like status.

The "last mile" market is completely different then the market to run internet services like Twitter. It's way simpler and cheaper to buy or rent servers in big data centers to start a new service compared to build a second or third cable infrastructure to all end users.
