Iranians are dead and more will be, which is no trivial thing if you are troubled by the killing – the murder – of other people by agents who claim to be acting on your behalf, that you were compelled to finance via the money they take from you to build bombs and such to kill other people with. It makes you complicit without your consent, which is doubly awful because what can you do about it?

Americans may be dead as I type this also. Americans may wonder why it is that they are dying in the Middle East (again) for reasons that have nothing to do with their own interests. It is a question more Americans appear to be asking than ever before. Americans, by and large, did not want this war. Yet they are now at war. It is an incredible thing. It is something like – but something worse than – finding yourself in a bar fight because some other guy you don't even know got into a fight with some other guy you don't know over some woman you don't know.

This fight is existential for all three combatants.

The Iranians know that if they lose, Iran becomes something like the Gimp in Pulp Fiction. No longer a state, at any rate, in any meaningful sense. They become the plaything of the creatures that run the state of Israel – who are the same creatures who run the United States. Maybe they'll get the son of the Shah as their puppet leader. What they'll have lost is everything. This is understood and it is why the fight back will likely be all-out. Ask yourself what you'd do if faced with a similar fight. Would you use anything you had to hurt and hopefully maim and kill your attacker? Of course you would.
