Amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, diplomatic efforts and military movements continue alongside a fragile ceasefire and stalled nuclear talks.

The White House said US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are set to arrive in Pakistan on Saturday morning for talks with Iran, coinciding with the visit of Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to Islamabad.

Their trip comes at a time when US-Iran negotiations remain stalled, with uncertainty lingering over whether Tehran will return to the table for further discussions.

US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth said Iran still has an "open window" to make a deal and "abandon a nuclear weapon in meaningful and verifiable ways".

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump said he hopes to host Israeli and Lebanese leaders "in the near future" after announcing a three-week extension to the fragile ceasefire in Lebanon.

Iran Israel War Live Updates: Trump says 'too much travel' behind cancellation of Witkoff, Kushner's Pakistan trip

US President Donald Trump said long travel times were a key reason for cancelling a planned visit by special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Pakistan for a second round of talks with Iran, CNN reported.

"We're not going to spend 15 hours in airplanes all the time going back and forth to be giving a document that was not good enough, and so we'll deal by telephone, and they can call us anytime they want," Trump told reporters outside Air Force One in Florida before departing for Washington, DC.

Iran Israel War Live Updates: Trump says Iran sent revised offer minutes after US team's trip was cancelled

US President Donald Trump said Iran sent a revised peace proposal shortly after he cancelled a planned trip by US negotiators, amid stalled talks between the two sides.

"They gave us a paper that could have been better, and interestingly, immediately when I canceled it, within 10 minutes we got a new paper that was much better," Trump told reporters on Saturday before boarding Air Force One from Florida to Washington.

He did not provide details of the latest proposal, saying only that "they offered a lot," but reiterated that a key US condition is that Iran "will not have a nuclear weapon."
