Footage from the South Lawn showed soldiers dressed in Revolutionary War attire at attention during the British king's visit, perhaps a clever troll by the president to remind Charles of when the United States fought for independence from British rule.

The "U.S. Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps" also played an old tune during a ceremony honoring the king's visit.

TMZ also found a George Washington impersonator near Congress during Tuesday's events.

Congressional leadership also invited King Charles to the House Chamber to address a joint meeting of Congress, to which President Trump later quipped he was impressed he was able to get Democrats to stand.

"I want to congratulate Charles on having made a fantastic speech today at Congress. He got the Democrats to stand. I've never been able to do that. I couldn't believe it," Trump remarked.
